Cyclical Note

- Trying to buy a house continues to be stressful. Our surveyor is not communicative and we don't know when to expect the full report. With repeated chasing we know the report is at least in progress. We've been given a couple of sentences which include the words "rot", "joists", and "ceiling will have to come down" without much more context. Not exactly what I was after.
- I did pick the surveyor with a promotional video consisting entirely of not-particularly-relevant stock footage that opens with a runner and surfer in slow mo, with music that sounds like the start of a porn [dances, gyrating hips].
- 02:14 Baileys nightcap is fine, it's December.
- “We’re talking the 3am playing with no lights on you” – Spotify called my insomnia out in Spotify unwrapped. Mind your own business, Spotify!
- Spotify also confirms that I did indeed listen to Frame Of Reference by Drug Store Romeos too many times.
- I'm in another Peep Show loop and have made it to the Christmas episode, Christmas Dinner with the Corrigans. Cauliflower is not traditional!
- One for you web developers, I've spent some time playing with Svelte Kit, it's a pretty cool framework. I appreciate how it handles progressive enhancement for many of the benefits of a SPA architecture without all the downsides, and its file based router is nice too. I've started building a blog with Svelte Kit to experiment. If I finish maybe I'll write a post about it, but there's a high probability I'll get bored before then.
- We had friends visit for First Christmas. They bought the best home made lebkuchen; I made a chocolate and cinnamon babka; mince pies were gathered from a Bakewell bakery (and a Bakewell pudding was eaten); this was washed down by Baileys. So indulgent. All I want to eat now is heavily boiled broccoli.
- We did a mini marathon of Home Alone 1 & 2 – doesn't the pigeon lady look a little like Piers Morgan? Aside, if you're looking for Christmas films to watch checkout Rowan's Christmas movie review. I can't bring myself to watch the Netflix ones but R approves!
