Readmitted note

  • Told my mother about some new symptoms I've been experiencing. An odd sensation (numbness?) down the side of my face and jaw; tingling in my hand. Dismissed her concerns AGAIN. Insisted they would probably be nothing.
  • Finally I relented, having half learnt a lesson, and long story short was readmitted to hospital. We were in A&E until the early hours and got so little sleep.
  • All good though! No stroke, at least. I was out again the next day. We were even able to make a pre-planned visit to Whitby. We dashed off – delicately, gingerly, after a little nap – as soon as I was discharged.
  • We needed to jump start Honda Jazz friend first, who was sat with a flat battery throughout (left a light on, whoops).
  • R thought the camping battery I bought was dumb. I don't camp. But I've used it to jump start the car twice, used its internal light to access the eaves regularly, and you know, I can watch TV still if there's a power cut *
  • FYI we're hiring for a Design Engineer (Senior Software Engineer) within my team. I think I've accidentally written a spec for a job I'll be jealous not to have 🙈 It's very front of the front-end specific.
  • So I spent a few hours learning the knit stitch and, well, it hasn't been going well. I need R's mum! The kit I bought is aimed at beginners, but I might buy some thicker yarn, that might be easier to start with.
City street, dawn. The sun begins to rise as street lights remain bright.

A sunny port between two hills. Whitby abby stands proudly at the opposite site.
Whitby.
Me holding 2 knitting needles. They are slim, 25cm long. I have attempted the knit stitch, badly, with cotton.

* Obviously not going to do that. Sit in the dark with a candle and a board game, what fun.
