Positive Note

Authored

Hey, we're officially responsible for the maintenance of a house! Let me give you a brief tour through my eyes.

Dark, claustrophobic close-up shot in a haunted brick out house. Two golden horse heads on crossed sticks peer upward. My haunted eyes stir forward, directly into the camera lens.
We didn't find any bodies, yet there were some surprises.
Me knelt by a bath, my head laid on its corner. White tape holds the side panels of the bath together. Also of note is my favourite red hat and ginger beard, which some – definitely not myself – may say is magnificat (I wonder if anyone finds this description?)
Held together by tape, but after many flats without one a bath is a bath.
A large patch of paint peels from the wall. I use my body to artfully frame it.
Whoops, this wasn't there before, we've changed decorating priorities.
Me lunged from step 2 to step 4 of a staircase. Looking fabulous.
It's wobbly Mr. Moody – unsure how to fix the 3rd step yet.
A me sized patch of tiles missing from a kitchen wall.
Here lived a happy family fridge, larger than life.

The more time we've spent there the more I'm loving it, and the less daunted I am by niggles and worries. I'm hopeful it'll be a wicked place to set down roots and can't wait to move in!

In other news: R has tested positive for covid. We're isolating in our rental among boxes piled high, whilst busily trying to stop the internet from moving to the new house and rearranging with the removals company.

Well, the few hours we were there was nice, we'll be in for the long haul, what's waiting another week or two! 😅
