Split Note

Authored

It's been a funny week.

Monday-Tuesday

Aaaaahhh. The beginning was productive if not particularly exciting, with the nagging sense of dread, frustration, and self loathing running hot but suppressed.

Wednesday

Midweek was punctuated by a day away from work. I made an effort to leave the house on a long 24km Sheffield Round Walk. I saw friendly people, sheep-s, forests, flowers, and bracken. Parks and birds, rivers and streams. Cliffs, moss, allotments, and sunny pubs. I heard bees, chatter, bleats, water trickling and cascading. For a while I heard nothing at all. The first half was relaxing, the second half allowed me to exercise some demons by pushing on through tiredness and dehydration (guess who planned poorly).

Thursday

Aaaaahhh. My career conversation was rambly. Clearly I want to keep working on my skills, pick up new ones, progress, but I obviously don't know exactly where to.

Friday - Saturday

The week ended with a flurry of excitement, almost normality: a sunny pub visit meeting lovely new people (the first new IRL people since the before times), a partly spilt pint (completely thrilling), a catch-up with other friends virtually the same evening, and, the following day, meeting one of my siblings and their partner for the first time in about a year.

Sunday

Morning

Aaaaahhh.

Present

"Actually this is fine. Everything will be okay. I'm so fortunate. What a day. Oh it's nice to be writing this outside now we have a little outside space."

"WASSSSSPPPPPPP!!"
