Mishmash Note

Authored

Following Sarah Everard's murder I've heard a lot of dreadful stories of male violence this week. I'm sure you have too. I don't have anything useful to add here, but it would feel remiss not to acknowledge male violence as a tragedy of our culture, that needs to be addressed by men.

Next up, a mishmash of things:

  • With flexibility and no commute I've found that my sleep and/or morning routine expands to fill the time afforded to it. However one day this week I started work at 9am and enjoyed an earlier finish. Please send praise.
  • My group at work had a special Show & Tell this week of lockdown keepers, new hobbies etc. Whilst my colleagues have run further than ever, learnt guitar, taken up sculpture carving, I've done nothing but discover the joys of a regular takeaway and joined R's mission to use up our old mace. Pandemic redo? I'll try harder 😬
  • I was already living some kind of lockdown life before the pandemic, to be fair. Sourdough, banana bread, and (a bit of) running was already my thing. Get off my metaphorical lawn everyone!
  • I'm exploring new ferments at least and have some kimchi on the go, which I'm pretty excited to tuck into.
  • Oh no NFTs are a thing now. I wonder how large the environmental impact will be — of the transactions that is, not the burnt BanksyBitcoin's energy use is astonishing.
  • Love Her Majesty and all, but, maybe we shouldn't have a royal family, huh?
  • Kensington ErgoSoft Wrist Rest Support for Slim Keyboard, yes thank you, rated 🙏🙏🙏

Bye, may your weekend also be filled with baked goods and tasty ferments 👋
