  • Big news! After years of talk and visits it's finally happened. We live in Sheffield now. We're paying London and Sheffield rent at the same time for up to two months and this makes me sad.
  • I never want to move again because it's a lot of hard work, admin, and anxiety. Especially during a pandemic. We couldn't really have a clear out so we moved with everything, including our pantry. One of the more fun hassles of the move was when the lid came off a jar of dry Cannellini bean. Beans cascaded everywhere! We were finding them for days. We got a big kick out of packing Tetris wins though. Hmm yes I think this rolling pin will fit perfectly within this rolled up lamp shade.
  • You enter a train carriage and need to decide where to sit. There’s a global pandemic and national lockdown. Travel is not allowed outside limited exceptions. Masks are mandatory and social distancing is strongly advised. There’s one other person already minding their own business in the carriage. Where do you choose to sit?
    1. Nowhere, it’s an empty train, find your own carriage.
    2. Sit immediately in front of the current passenger.
    3. Sit a few rows over from the current passenger.
Apparently the answer is B, sit immediately in front of the current passenger. Did you get it right reader?
  • We were super fortunate that it was lovely and sunny when we arrived. In the days following we've had loads of snow. It has been so fun to watch people sliding down hills on sledges, I've even seen snowboards and skis out!
  • The snow chat is all based on my one and only short walk so far. We do want to be careful in case we picked up covid along the way. It is the strangest bubble. I half expect London to still be outside sometimes.
  • Work wise I don't have much to report, I've been focused on the move, but am starting to feel twitches of enthusiasm return after feeling pretty bleh for a while. This week I spent some time getting to grips with company strategy and have to admit some of the less intuitive diagrams I've come across make me snigger. Draw a box around some maybe connected things, some arrows pointing in, some arrows pointing out, add a squiggly line here connecting this and that, et voilà!
  • That's it. Right, back to cleaning this new place! 🧹🧼
